We envision a community in which every individual can express him or herself through the performing arts. Our mission is to provide a platform for local talented designers, to showcase their unique art through Fashion while providing Boston with a one of a kind fashion event during Boston Fashion Week. Not only do these efforts support our love for fashion but they also provide opportunities for philanthropic growth as much of the proceeds of our events are donated to charity.
Prajjé Couture is led by one of Boston’s finest Fashion Designers and show producers. We are diverse and non-discriminatory, inviting people from a broad spectrum of social, ethnic, religious and economic backgrounds to work together. We extend and reach out to all individuals with talent, whether established or not. Based on feedback from our fans, our shows are rated as some of the most successful and best runway events in the Boston area. Since 2006 we have become an important element to the city’s fashion scene. Our most recent production “The Final Chapter of Boston Fashion Week” was a major success and we are even more ambitious this year. Together with Prajjé Jean-Baptiste Productions and a carefully assembled team, the Fashion Expose committee will produce an event that will leave a mark on the Boston’s fashion industry. This year we will showcase local rising-star designers and famed ready-to-wear brands, both national and international. Additionally, we have added to the schedule an exotic and avant-garde hair show. As a closing statement, an invitation only red carpet ball is scheduled to close out the three-day extravaganza.
Boston Fashion week was founded in 1995. The week of fashion related events throughout Greater Boston serves as a platform for both established industry professionals and aspiring newcomers to showcase the great wealth of local talent. It has received an official proclamation from the Mayor’s office every year that officially declares it Boston Fashion Week in the city, along with letters of support and citations from the Governor of Massachusetts. In 2001 the Governor issued a proclamation declaring it Boston Fashion Week in the state of Massachusetts. BFW was designed to market and promote fashion in Boston; to acquire, assemble and distribute information regarding fashion in Boston; to act as a liaison between local industry factions involved in the sectors of community service, education, tourism and the local economy. Boston Fashion Week has created and coordinated well organized, easy to access, informative systems that increases the visibility of their efforts in Boston throughout the years. It has also developed a structure that allows for a balance between creativity and consistency while fostering a sense of community among those who are involved each year.
